Fundação Banestes
www.baneses.com.br

Founded on July 11, 1972, Fundação Banestes de Seguridade Social (Baneses) is a closely held, non-profit private pension plan administrator with the mission of guaranteeing that its participants and dependents are able to retire with a high quality of life. A pioneer in the private pension industry in Espírito Santo state and one of Brazil's oldest private pension plan administrators, today Baneses is one of the largest pension funds in the state.

Baneses was created from the employee benefit plan Caixa Beneficente dos Funcionários do Banestes, which offered loans and support to the institution's employees, which are government workers. At that time, providing additional retirement benefits beyond those entitled to government workers was the responsibility of the bank. Supported by an initiative of the executive boards of Caixa Beneficente and of Banestes, a study was implemented to create a pension fund that would assure greater security and benefits to participants and dependents. Once the study was completed, which was approved by a general meeting of employees, Caixa Beneficiente was transformed into what today is Fundação Banestes de Seguridade Social (Baneses).
